2019 Jets Set To Strike In New White, Black And 'Gotham Green' Unis

New year. New Look. New Era. The New York Jets are transforming their on-field presence to match their new on-field persona and play, breaking out new uniforms in “Spotlight White, Stealth Black, and Gotham Green” with the team’s heartbeat -- New York -- emblazoned across the chest.

“This is my town. I love this town,” Jets CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson said. “And I wanted these jerseys to celebrate that.”

While both striking new looks for home and away games got players fired up, the one that set everyone off was the menacing all-black stance, which Johnson beamed “kicks ass” and safety Jamal Adams called “crazy.”

“It’s just a different swagger,” Adams said. “I think it’s something this team needed. To have something new, something fresh start, new coaching staff, I think it’s just what we needed.”

There’s a renaissance brewing in New York, and everyone is catching the vibe, from ownership to players, coaches, staff and fans. With passionate new head coach Adam Gase and high-profile off-season pickups like running back Le’Veon Bell boosting last season’s youth movement, the resurgent Jets believe they could explode in 2019.

Of a new dynamic offense with Bell in the backfield, receiver Robby Anderson said: “This year it’s gonna be lights out.”

Always level-headed, though, was Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. Already thinking about his sophomore NFL season, Darnold said of the new uniforms, “If we don’t play well, the uniforms will look crummy. If we win and we play well, they’ll look awesome. So it’s up to us to win games.”
